Iris Marušić, Ph.D., is a scientific advisor at the Institute for Social Research in Zagreb, Centre for Educational Research and Development. In 1999, she received her Ph.D. from the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb, with a thesis in personality psychology. Her fields of research are educational psychology, personality psychology, and cross-cultural psychology. As the principal investigator, she has a crucial role in the further refinement of the proposed conceptual framework. Given her expertise, her particular research contribution is in conceptualizing and investigating the role of personality and motivation in teachers’ occupational well-being. She is responsible for and actively involved in all phases of the research design and implementation, as well as in the overall project management and reporting. She is coordinating the work of the research team, with a particular focus on the development of young researchers’ careers.

Ivana Pikić Jugović, Ph.D., is a senior research associate at the Institute for Social Research, Centre for Educational Research and Development. She graduated in psychology from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. In 2010, she received her Ph.D. from the same university with a thesis in educational psychology. Her areas of interest are psychology of education and psychology of gender. Given her expertise in the field, within this project she will be focused on the further theoretical elaboration of the motivation for the choice of the teaching profession, as well as on social and emotional competencies as precursors of early-career teachers’ occupational well-being. She has a leading role in exploring teachers’ views on occupational well-being from the qualitative perspective. As an experienced teacher educator in topics of motivation and social and emotional competencies, she is responsible for the development and implementation of the workshops for teachers.

Josip Šabić, Ph.D., has been employed as a research assistant at the Centre for Educational Research and Development of the Institute for Social Research in Zagreb since 2016. He graduated (2008) and received a Ph.D. (2018) in Psychology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. From 2008 to 2016, he worked in the National Centre for External Evaluation of Education on the development and construction of examinations. His fields of interest are psychology of education and psychometrics. He has an important role in the refinement of the research methodology, especially in the development of the sampling procedure. Due to his experience in analyzing large sample data and multi-level analyses, he will conduct complex statistical analyses needed to address research questions. He will explore the relationship between teachers’ occupational well-being and motivational elements of instructional quality assessed by students. He is in charge of coordinating the online questionnaire data collection and interview transcription.

Jelena Matić Bojić, Ph.D., is a research associate at the Institute for Social Research in Zagreb, Centre for Educational Research and Development. She holds a Ph.D. in psychology from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. Her areas of interest are personality psychology, social psychology, and educational psychology. Within the project, she will use structural equation modeling to test the direct and indirect effects of personality traits on the aspects of teachers’ occupational well-being, especially burnout. In testing the mediation models, she will use both self- and other-reported personality. Furthermore, she is responsible for the coordination of the research team in the qualitative research phase.

Tea Pavin Ivanec, Ph.D., is an associate professor at the Faculty of Teacher Education, University of Zagreb. She graduated at undergraduate and postgraduate studies of psychology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. From 2003 to 2011 she worked at the Institute for Social Research in Zagreb, and from 2011 at the Faculty of Teacher Education, University of Zagreb. In the project, she provides expertise on the professional development of teachers with a special focus on the motivation for the teaching profession, teacher self-efficacy for teaching and teacher goal orientations, and their reflections on teachers’ occupational well-being. She will have a major role in designing the policy recommendations and drafting the policy report.

Josipa Mihić, Ph.D., is an associate professor at the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences, Laboratory of Prevention Research, University of Zagreb. She graduated in social pedagogy, and obtained her Ph.D. from prevention science - prevention of mental and behavioral disorders and the promotion of mental health at the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Zagreb. Her research interests are related to the prevention of behavioral problems and the promotion of mental health, socio-emotional learning in children, youth and adults, mindfulness interventions, and the evaluation of preventive interventions. As an expert in the field of social and emotional learning, she is responsible for the adaptation of scales measuring teachers’ social and emotional competencies. She will participate in the data analysis and writing papers related to the role of these competencies in explaining early-career teachers’ occupational well-being.

Mirta Mornar, mag. psych. is a research assistant at the Institute for Social Research in Zagreb, involved in projects within the Institute’s Centre for Educational Research and Development. She graduated from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb with an MA in Psychology. Her field of interest is psychology of education, particularly social and emotional aspects of education. Within the project, she is assisting in all project phases, particularly during fieldwork and data analyses. She will complete her Ph.D. on the role of social and emotional competencies in early-career teachers' well-being. She will be responsible for the coordination of the data collection in the quantitative research phase.

Dora Petrović, mag. psych. is a research assistant at the Institute of Social Research in Zagreb, in the Centre for Educational Research and Development. She graduated in Psychology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. Her research field of interest is educational psychology, with particular interest in the motivational aspects of the educational process and gender dimension of education. She is involved in all phases of the project, including both quantitative and qualitative parts of the research. She will prepare her doctoral thesis as part of the project.
