Vacancy for the selection of Senior Research Assistant – Postdoctoral Fellow – Social Sciences – 1 position – TAP-2023
Based on Articles 39 and 40 of the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (OG 119/22), and the Decision of the Scientific Council of the Institute for Social Research in Zagreb, the Institute for Social Research in Zagreb, Amruševa 11/II, announces
VACANCY
For the selection of Associate in the position of Senior Research Assistant in the scientific area of Social Sciences, to work on the project “Learning Amidst Disinformation and Social Conflict: Young People and Teachers Co-Constructing Curriculum through Transnational Dialogue“ financed by the Croatian Science Foundation within the TAP – 2023 Call – 1 position, in full time and on a fixed-term of 12 months.
Applicants need to meet the conditions stipulated by the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (OG 119/2022).
Compulsory conditions:
- general conditions for employment,
- completed university graduate study or university integrated study in the area of Social Sciences,
- completed doctoral study in the area of Social Sciences,
- excellent knowledge of English,
- excellent computer skills necessary for the scientific research work.
Priority in employment shall be given to candidates meeting additional criteria:
- completed doctoral study in the field of Sociology, Psychology or Political Science,
- active participation in scientific research work and published scientific papers,
- knowledge of qualitative research methodology,
- interest for educational research.
Along with the application, candidates shall enclose:
- copy of diploma of the completed graduate and doctoral study,
- CV with a list of papers,
- cover letter,
- decision on the recognition of foreign educational qualification for candidates who have obtained their qualification abroad,
- electronic proof of the data evidenced in the Croatian Pension Insurance data base,
- proof of knowledge of Croatian, B2 level (for foreign applicants).
Candidates meeting the formal criteria of the public vacancy may be invited to a testing of knowledge, interests and motivation, and to an interview.
Candidates invoking their right of priority in access to employment need to submit all the prescribed documentation according to the special law. Candidates invoking their right of priority in access to employment according to provisions of Article 102 of the Act on Croatian Homeland War Veterans and Members of Their Families, and among whom there are no impediments in terms of Article 104 of the Act, need to submit all the necessary documentation prescribed by Article 103 of the Act, to be able to exercise that priority. Candidates invoking their right of priority in access to employment according to provisions of Article 48 of the Act on Civilian Victims of the Homeland War, and among whom there are no impediments in terms of Article 50 of the Act, need to submit all the necessary documentation prescribed by Article 49 of that Act, to be able to exercise that priority. Candidates invoking their right of priority in access to employment according to provisions of Article 48f of the Act on the Rights of Members of Armed Forces and Civilians Disabled in War need to provide proof of meeting the required criteria, along with proof of the status in question.
Candidates invoking their right of priority in access to employment according to provisions of Article 9 of the Act on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities, and among whom there are no impediments in terms of Article 9 Paragraph 18 of that Act, need to submit proof of disability to be able to exercise that priority.
Senior Research Assistant is employed in line with the corresponding coefficient of job complexity for the Senior Research Assistant position, in accordance with the Regulation on Job Titles, Placement Conditions and Payment Coefficients in Public Services. The employment includes a probationary period of 6 months.
Based on Article 13 of the Gender Equality Act, candidates of both genders can apply to the vacancy.
