Project description

The research objective is to examine and to analyze social status, values and attitudes of Croatian political elite with the focus on the youth and gender issues. The sample encompasses approximately 250 representatives of so-called status elites from the executive and legislative bodies at the national, regional and municipal level. For the purpose of data collection, an instrument consisting out of number of variables used in the research in 2004 will be used, together with variables from several empirical research on youth from 2004 and 2018. The idea of such research design is to get a scientific insight in the sociological features of political elites in Croatia and a two-level comparison. On the first level, the previous and recent data on political elite will be compared and on the second level these data will be put into the context of youth and gender research data. The academic value of this project lays in the fact that empirical research in the areas of sociology and political science on Croatian political elite are immensely deficitary.
