Our researchers Zrinka Ristić Dedić, Boris Jokić, Vlaho Kavain and Paula Filipec participated in the XXX CESE (Comparative Education Society in Europe) conference “Worlds of Learning: Comparative Perspectives on the Future(s) of Education“, held from 29 June until 2 July at the Roskilde University in Denmark.
Together with the English and Canadian members of the project team, they presented results of the trans-atlantic research project “Learning Amidst Disinformation and Social Conflict: Young People and Teachers Co-Constructing Curriculum through Transnational Dialogue (4Cs)“, which is in Croatia financed by the Croatian Science Foundation.
Within the symposium titled “Citizen Learning Amidst Disinformation and Social Conflict: Young People and Teachers Co-Constructing Curriculum through Transnational Dialogue“ three papers were presented:
- Framing the Curriculum in Conflict: Moving Beyond Existing Advice for Teachers in Relation to Divisive Issues and Media (Lee Jerome, Zrinka Ristić Dedić, Kathy Bickmore and Ben Kisby)
- Handling Divisive Issues and Media Sources in the Classroom: Teachers’ Perceptions and Practices in Canada, Croatia and England (Boris Jokić, Jeremy Hayward, Yucci Liao, Paula Filipec and Dareen Fatimah)
- Students’ Capabilities and Educational Needs in Relation to Conflictual Issues and Media (Un)Reliability in Croatia, England, and Canada (Kathy Bickmore, Faiza Hyder, Maria Paz Faundez-Bastías, Vlaho Kavain and Ruba Kallab).
During the conference, a project meeting of the international team was held, at which researchers exchanged experiences from the field work and discussed future activities of the project.
