Open Day ISRZ held

Published: 04.07.2022.

This year's Open Day ISRZ, held on 30 June 2022, gathered around 20 participants, mostly representatives of the civil sector, teachers, students of Sociology or Psychology, along with a journalist from Croatian Radio, who also joined us.

The Director of the Institute Boris Jokić opened the programme with a foreword, after which Marko Kovačić held the presentation “Youth Work in Croatia – Between the Hammer and the Anvil“, in which he brought youth work closer to the audience and reflected on the current situation in Croatia regarding the implementation of youth policies in Croatia. Marko's presentation was complemented by Marita Grubišić-Čabo's presentation of the Institute's Erasmus + project “Youth Wiki“, which she coordinates, and within which the Institute carries out the mapping of youth policies at the national level, and in accordance with the EU guidelines.

Jelena Matić Bojić presented the topic of integration of refugees in the Croatian society within the presentation “Escape into the Unkown and from the (Un)known: How are Refugees Treated in Croatia?“. She challenged the prejudices towards refugees, and the differences in the perception of refugees based on the countries of their origin. The programme was closed by Iva Odak, who brought closer the international project “Hand in Hand“ by presenting the topic of “How to Strengthen Social and Emotional Competences in the Educational System?“. Within the presentation she also held an exercise aimed at raising the awareness of social inequalities and unequal educational opportunities.

The programme was moderated by Tana Morić, Institute's Expert Associate for Projects and Public Relations.

We thank all who visited us and actively contributed to the discussions. A part of the atmosphere during the event can be seen in the photo gallery.
