ISSP General Assembly Held in Pula, Hosted by IDIZ and FDV
Published: 22.05.2025.

From May 17 to 21, 2025, the city of Pula hosted the General Assembly of the International Social Survey Programme (ISSP), one of the world’s longest-standing international research networks in the social sciences. The event was co-organized by the Institute for Social Research in Zagreb (ISRZ) and the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana (FDV), gathering representatives from over 30 member countries.
Throughout the multi-day program, participants discussed the future of ISSP, exchanged experiences in survey implementation, and planned upcoming modules. Particular attention was given to the conceptual and methodological development of the next two modules: “Role of Government“ and “Social Networks and Social Resources“, scheduled for future ISSP waves.
We are proud to announce that Croatia and ISRZ have become a member of the ISSP Standing Committee, further strengthening the role of the Croatian team within this international research community.
The Assembly also provided a valuable platform for strengthening collaboration among member countries, sharing best practices, and collectively reflecting on the challenges faced by the social science research community today.
The organization of this event, as well as the project International Social Survey Programme – ISSP (007/IDIZ Program Agreement 2024–27) is financially supported by the Institute for Social Research in Zagreb (ISRZ) within the framework of the Croatian National Recovery and Resilience Plan, funded through the NextGenerationEU instrument.
