Invitation to a Discussion on post-earthquake renewal six years after the Zagreb and Petrinja earthquake

Dear colleagues,

We cordially invite you to the “Discussion on post-earthquake renewal six years after the Zagreb and Petrinja earthquake: Perceptions of residents of Donji and Gornji Grad, Markuševec and Čučerje, and Petrinja and Glina“.

The discussion is part of a collaboration in the domains of Urban Sociology and Urban Anthropology, and on two projects: “Effects of the Europeanization Process in Selected Urban-Rural Areas of Croatia (HREUURBRUR)“ and „What kind of cities do we want? Contemporary transformations of urban visions, practices and ethics (URBAN) – the FUTURUS Platform“.

Participants in the discussion will be the Institute for Social Research in Zagreb researchers – Anđelina Svirčić Gotovac, Jelena Zlatar Gamberožić and Sara Ursić (external associate), and the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Research researchers – Mirna Tkalčić Simetić and Valentina Gulin Zrnić.

The Discussion is held on the 6th anniversary of the earthquake, on Friday, 20th March 2026 at 11.00 AM – in hall 101, Leksikografski zavod Miroslav Krleža, Frankopanska 26, Zagreb.
