International Conference “Why the World Needs Anthropologists - The Power of Isolation“

The 11th international conference “Why the World Needs Anthropologists - The Power of Isolation“ is held in Supetar on the island of Brač from 27th to 29th October 2023 (from Friday till Sunday). The conference is organized by the Network for Applied Anthropology of the European Association of Social Anthropologists (EASA) and partners. The organizers of the conference are the Croatian Science Foundation, the Slovenian Research Agency, the Institute for Social Research in Zagreb, the Institute for Migration and Ethnic Studies, Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Zagreb, Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Zagreb University of Applied Sciences, the City of Supetar and many others.

About two hundred anthropologists will discuss in workshops and panels what isolation means in the context of longlasting and mutually connected crises.
