Published: 13.03.2026.

Filip Fila, PhD participated in the ‘2nd GPREFCZSK Workshop on the Study of Individual Geopolitical Preferences’, an international research workshop dedicated to the study of citizens' geopolitical attitudes, held in Bratislava as part of the Czech-Slovak research project GPREFCZSK.

At the workshop, he presented a paper co-authored with Nikola Petrović, PhD and Josip Bilić, PhD entitled Alignment with the West, for Better or Worse? Geopolitical Preferences of Croatian Citizens under Scrutiny. The paper employs a comparative analysis of survey data collected in 2021 and 2025 to examine Croatian citizens' attitudes toward foreign states, international organisations, and political leaders. Initial findings are available in an article published at the sociologija.hr portal.

This research builds on the previous work of the project team conducted within the framework of the project ‘Integration and Disintegration of the European Union: Dynamics of Europeanism and Euroscepticism (IDEU)’, and forms a part of ongoing research activities of the project ‘Effects of the Europeanisation Process in Selected Urban-Rural Areas of Croatia (HREUURBRUR)’.
