Dr. sc. Sandra Antulić Majcen and Dr. sc. Iva Odak participated in the 3rd Conference of School Psychologists: Horizons of Strength – School Psychologist between Empathy and Algorithm, which was held from 19 to 21 February at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb.
In the presented paper, “School's Contribution to Protecting the Youth's Subjective Well-Being in the Pandemic and Post-Pandemic Period: A Comparative Analysis of Croatia and Slovenia”, the authors explore changes in the youth's subjective well-being and perceived institutional and professional support within the Croatian and Slovenian education system during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. The results confirm that educational institutions played a key role in supporting the youth's well-being and mental health during the pandemic. Moreover, the results indicate the need for systematic strengthening and further development of institutional support systems with the aim of providing differentiated and targeted support to young people and creating a more just, inclusive and stimulating educational environment.
The paper is based on the results of the project "YO-VID22 - Youth Well-being and Support Structures Before, During and After the Covid-19 Pandemic" (IPS-2022-02-8156) funded by the Croatian Science Foundation and the Public Agency for Scientific Research and Innovation of the Republic of Slovenia.
