Assistant Lorelaj Lukačin participated in the international workshop “Joint Sessions of Workshops 2026” at the University of Innsbruck. The workshop was organized by the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR).

Within the panel “Depoliticisation, Distrust, and the Conservative Youth Turn: Rethinking Democratic Citizenship”, she presented the paper titled “A Qualitative Study of Youth Political Disengagement in Croatia” and co-authored with Nikola Baketa, PhD and Jelena Matić Bojić, PhD.

The paper employs qualitative analysis to explore the reasons for political non-participation and disengagement among high school students in Croatia. The research was conducted within the project “Political Competence of Youth at the Verge of Adulthood (PKM)”, which is carried out as part of the Institute’s research programme financed by the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth under the NextGenerationEU fund of the European Commission.
