Assistant Anamaria Klasić presented results of her doctoral thesis at the Institute for Physical Planning of the City of Zagreb

As part of the Friday cycle of open lectures held at the Institute for Physical Planning of the City of Zagreb, Anamaria Klasić, PhD presented results of her doctoral thesis titled Social Aspects of Quality of Life in Zagreb's Housing Estates from the Socialist and Post-socialist Period on Friday, September 5, 2025. The thesis was written under the mentorship of Anđelina Svirčić Gotovac, PhD, Principal Investigator of the Croatian Science Foundation project Quality of living in the Housing Estates of the socialist and post-socialist era: a comparative analysis between Slovenia and Croatia (HESC, 2020–2023), under which the thesis was completed.

The presentation was followed by a discussion on current spatial-social questions – from protection of modernist housing estates and planning of new urban units, to the need for public infrastructure and facilities in the context of changes and amendments to the City of Zagreb Master Plan. The knowledge was exchanged among researchers of the Institute for Social Research in Zagreb's Centre for Spatial and Political Research (Anđelina Svirčić Gotovac, PhD, Jelena Zlatar Gamberožić, PhD, and Assistants Anamaria Klasić, PhD and Roko Uvodić), as well as experts from the Institute for Physical Planning of the City of Zagreb, led by Nikša Božić, MS Arch, Head of the Institute.
