Iris Marušić, Ivana Jugović and Tea Pavin Ivanec have published a chapter entitled “How Personality Dimensions and Motivation to Teach Shape the Learning Achievement Goals of Croatian Future Teachers“ as a part of the Cambridge University Press book ”Global Perspectives on Teacher Motivation“. The book is a result of international cooperation, presenting research findings on motivation for teaching from 12 different countries.

This chapter provides an overview of teacher education and teacher professional development in Croatia, together with an empirical review of the motivation for teaching profession in Croatia. In addition, the chapter presents a new empirical insight into the role of personality and motivations for choosing teaching as a future career in explaining achievement goals of student teachers in their teacher studies.
