Ivana Pikić Jugović, Ph.D. held a lecture titled “How to overcome gender stereotypes in classroom?“ at the conference organized within the project “Equality is “In“ – Stereotypes are “Out“- Teachers for Future Generations – Let’s Enhance Equality“. Within the lecture she explained how gender stereotypes shape pupils’ educational choices, success and motivation, and what the role of school is, in adopting gender stereotypes. The guidelines for overcoming gender stereotypes at the level of the whole educational system were suggested, and practical advice for both male and female teachers were given. The lecture was held on invitation by the Institute for Research and Education Zaposlena mama, which coordinates the project, in collaboration with the City of Zagreb and the Association for the Affirmation of Women’s Potentials (AFA) from Serbia.
