Published results of new research on educational inequalities in Croatia

Published: 26.04.2024.

A series of research on educational inequalities, from early and pre-school to adult age was published. New articles and publications were also released, bringing results of six scientific research studies, which were conducted by the Network Lifelong Learning for All, comprised of more than 60 experts from the scientific community, educational sector and civil society. This is one of the largest initiatives for exploring the problem of inequality in education in Croatia. The research encompassed more than 2,500 of surveyed participants and more than 300 participants of focus groups and interviews, resulting in the publishing of a total of 14 different papers. The published papers offer a unique insight into the experiences of early and pre-school teachers, primary and secondary school teachers, pupils and students, who are facing educational inequalities. Based on the results of the research, detailed recommendations for public policies were drafted, with the aim to improve equity and inclusiveness of the Croatian educational system. All results are published at the web-page: https://www.obrazovanjezasve.hr/istrazivanja/.

  • additional support to attendees of education for enabling them to master educational programmes' demands,
  • additional support to educational professionals for working with groups in an unfavourable position.

The Network also advocates for bringing the national plan for equity and inclusiveness in the whole educational system, and the implementation of the national plan for well-being in educational institutions.
